This is the 23rd Annual Ride for Cycle for Independence. This is the longest running charity ride in the Treasure Valley. They are offering 10-, 25-, and 62-mile options as Virtual Rides in 2021. All distances are a flat $35 donation to their cause. While their traditional start location is Riverglen Jr High 6801 N. Gary Lane, participants can ride where they want this year as it is a virtual event.

For the sake of tradition and solidarity with this cause, CBR will be staging our Saturday ride on May 22nd from Riverglen Jr High for the 25- and 62-mile options.  I am shifting to a 10:15am start time. The reason for the delayed start is to allow those who register for the Virtual Ride to pick up their socks! The socks are available between 10am and 12 noon to pick up

Anticipated speed groups are 13-15mph (Leisure Group) and 16-18 mph.

Rest Stops and SAG Support! We will have a rest stop along the route out towards Star/Middleton. We will also have a support driver for shedding clothes and bailing out any fatigued riders.

The traditional 2021 Ride For Hope Idaho will not be staged due to COVID-19.

However, in a show of solidarity for the charity rides, on June 12th, CBR will stage 34- and 62-mile options from Kuna, Idaho.  The routes will be the ones used by Ride for Hope - Idaho. Members of their group will join us that day.  This will take the place of our regular CBR rides on this day.

Unlike the Cycle for Independence, there isn't a "virtual" ride to sign up for with Ride For Hope Idaho. There is no charge to participate in the ride. Please just RSVP for the ride by clicking the "register" button on this calendar item so we can plan for how many are coming.

However, if you would still like to support the cause of healthcare for the medically underserved in our community, you can donate directly to Genesis Community Health by following the link: https://genesiscommunityhealth.com/donate/.  Any donation they receive will be all the more appreciated during this time of stress on the healthcare system.

The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 20, people from across the world will fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through a fundraising activity of their choice. I am proposing that we stage for our CBR members The Longest Day Ride with CBR as a 3rd Party event to support the Alzheimer’s Association.

CBR will stage 65- and 100-mile options. This will be for CBR members only. The routes will be the old Bob LeBow Bike Tour Route that staged from Nampa Idaho and went through Melba, Marsing, Homedale, Adrian OR, Caldwell before coming back to Nampa. Like the Cycle for Independence, this ride will include Rest Stops and Sag Support as well as a CBR Party at the end of the ride.

Go to the http://act.alz.org/goto/JeffLarsenCBR link and register yourself to join The Longest Day Ride with CBR.

Then "register" for the ride using the Calendar RSVP. This lets us know which members are coming.
