Cooperative Biking & Recreation (CBR)

Cooperative Biking & Recreation (“CBR”) is a club for cyclists and outdoor adventurists who desire to ride on a regular basis and also enjoy other types of outdoor recreation. CBR offers group rides to help cyclists get the most enjoyment out of recreational cycling. Whether you are new to cycling or a veteran, riding in a group is a great way to go. If you are looking for road, gravel or mountain bike riding in the Treasure Valley and a chance to meet others with a similar interest, come join us for a spin. Cycling is the core of CBR but we also organize other outdoor adventures. 

Annual Dues of $25.00 are required for membership. These dues are payable through the CBR website.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT

Assumption of Risk: I understand and accept that participating in bicycling, hiking, backpacking and other outdoor activities exposes me to many hazards and entails unavoidable risk of death, personal injury (including but not limited to severe spinal or head injury) and loss of or damage to property. I also understand I should be in good physical health to participate in any and or all club sponsored recreational activities. I choose to participate in these activities despite the risks and hereby assume all risk of injury or loss of life to myself and loss of or damage to property arising out of participating in these activities. I understand the inherent risk involved in using a bicycle and other recreational equipment and accept full responsibility for any and all such damage or injury that may result.

Waiver And Release: In consideration of CBR allowing me to participate in CBR group rides and club-related activities, I specifically release and forever discharge CBR and its affiliates, sponsors, officers, agents, and employees from any and all liability or claims for injury, illness, death or loss of or damage to property which I may suffer while participating in bicycling and other club-related activities. This discharge specifically includes, but is not limited to, liability or claims for injury, illness, death or damage caused by the negligence of CBR or its affiliates, sponsors, officers, agents or employees. It is my intent by the Waiver and Release Agreement to release CBR and hold it harmless from all liability for any such property loss or damage, personal injury or loss of life, whether caused by the negligence of CBR or whether based on breach of contract, breach of warranty, or any other legal theory.

In signing this document:

• ·         I fully recognize that if injury, illness, death or damage occurs to me while I am engaged in participating in bicycling, or any other activity, I will have no right to make a claim or file a lawsuit against CBR or its affiliates, sponsors, officers, agents or employees, even if they or any of them negligently cause my injury, illness, death or damage.
• ·         I understand that wearing a helmet is required by CBR while cycling. If I do not wear a helmet, I cannot participate in any club rides.
• ·         I understand that the wearing of any type of in-ear headphones is prohibited on all club rides.
• ·         I understand that using Aero Bars during a club ride is prohibited.
• ·         I understand that any recreational activity may result in severe injury, including but not limited to spinal or head injury.
• ·         I understand that this activity may result in hazards posed by other bicycles and traffic or road conditions.
• ·         CBR staff have answered any questions I have had.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT IN ITS ENTIRETY AND UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THIS IS AN ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND I SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT I SHOULD NOT AND MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN BICYCLING OR ANY OTHER ACTIVITY IF I AM UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS.
